The Life And Legacy Of Walter “Killer” Kowalski With NECW’s Sheldon Goldberg – Episode 123

Pro wrestler “The Kingpin” Brian Milonas and referee Mike Crockett have done a few podcasts highlighting the “founding fathers” of New England pro wrestling and this time, just a few days before the 10-year anniversary of his passing, we focus on the nucleus of the local wrestling landscape and an all-time legend, Walter “Killer” Kowalski! We both had the opportunity to be around Walter in his later years, and we share some memories of meeting the man, visiting the old school in Malden, Massachusetts, his vegetarian lifestyle, his favorite stories, our understanding of the origin of the nickname “Killer” and more. Then, New England Championship Wrestling promoter and noted wrestling historian Sheldon Goldberg (@necw) joins the show to school us on Kowalski’s unreal in-ring career, Walter’s friendship with WWWF promoter Abe Ford, Killer Kowalski’s Institute Of Pro Wrestling (one of the nation’s first wrestling training facilities), the birth of his promotion, the IWF, and why those sold shows went away, his studio wrestling TV show Bedlam From Boston, his claim to the New England “territory” and the true legacy of the man as wrestler and teacher! If you’re reading this and you’re a wrestling fan in New England, or anywhere else to be honest, you owe a debt of gratitude to the late Walter Kowalski. Also in this episode, a Promo About Nothing that’s definitely NOT a blast, a referee correction for episode 1-2-3 and will Crockett be buffing a ROH World Six-man championship belt?

The Lowell house show was proof of that, and our… “special correspondent” gives his thoughts on the entire night and what it meant to him. Then, it’s on to Brooklyn where we rank our favorite moments, matches and more from another great Takeover card! Also this week, a spirited Promo About Nothing, The Kingpin returns to Inside Edition, and he and his pals get a golden opportunity at The Bullet Club!

The Red-Headed Stepchild Of The Entertainment Industry – Episode 121

Pro wrestler “The Kingpin” Brian Milonas and referee Mike Crockett take a look this week at pro wrestling’s place in the world. We all seem to have accepted that it’s not sport, but why is it still the most disrespected brand of entertainment? Why do people still ask if it’s fake? Why won’t people give a wrestling performance the same weight as they would a performance in a movie, play, or TV show? Why do those that claim to be fans of wrestling sometimes have just as negative a view as the outsiders? And can anything be done to improve wrestling’s profile? It’s a much different take on the Summer Of Negativity this time out, and we really want to get your thoughts on this one! Plus, maybe the Dingo ate your Promo About Nothing, the G1 Supercard sellout at Madison Square Garden, and The Kingpin’s gonna sit on more shit for your viewing pleasure!

The Reunion Wrestling Roundup & Worst Day Ever – Episode 120

Pro wrestler “The Kingpin” Brian Milonas and referee Mike Crockett embark on the most anticipated reunion since Foreigner, and it’s URGENT that we talk about the slew of news that’s been breaking over the past month – not the least of which is a new additon to the Crockett family! But we are a wrestling podcast after all, so we’ll also share opinions on WWE Evolution, more wrestling Twitter silliness with Bliss & Brock, Tommaso Ciampa reaching the top of the NXT mountain, WWE hoarding talent, and we’ll reveal what Brian Milonas is doing instead of Matt Riddle! Also, we continue the WPAN’s Summer of Negativity by revealing the Worst Day we (or someone we know) had in wrestling – we’re talking stolen cars, destroyed hotels, arrests and more! Plus, a pearl of a Promo About Nothing, Milonas is ALL OUT and the Buffet Brothers are hungry!
